Your DIRECTV™ Receiver with UltimateTV® service comes with a remote control that sends infrared signals to the receiver. The Sony Remote Control can also be programmed to operate most brands of TV. The RCA Universal Remote Control can be programmed to operate TVs, VCRs, and other devices.

Use your remote to turn your receiver on and off, change channels, adjust volume, and activate TV controls such as Record, Pause, Fast Forward, Reverse, Jump Ahead, and Instant Replay. You can also use your remote to type text with an on-screen keyboard (when searching for a program title, for example).
