If you already subscribe to a DIRECTV® programming package, here's what you need
to do to use the UltimateTV service:
- Determine whether your current DIRECTV dish antenna is a dual-LNB antenna, which permits two satellite feed cables to be connected from the antenna to the receiver. This can either be a round single-satellite dish with dual-LNB or an oval multi-satellite dish. If you already have such a dish, you do not need to buy a new one.
- Purchase a DIRECTV Receiver with UltimateTV service. (Tell your retailer whether or not you need a dual-LNB satellite dish antenna, depending on the information in Step 1.)
- If you purchased a new antenna, install it. (Professional installation is recommended.) If you're using your existing DIRECTV antenna, connect another RG-6 coaxial cable (sold separately) to the second LNB.
- Connect both RG-6 coaxial cables from the satellite dish to the SATELLITE IN jacks on the back of the receiver.
- Use the supplied cables to connect the receiver to your TV.
- Connect the supplied telephone cord to the receiver and plug it into a nearby telephone wall jack. Your receiver will need to be connected to a telephone jack at all times.
- After the receiver and satellite dish are installed, call 1-800-DIRECTV (1-800-347-3288) and tell the representative that you already subscribe to DIRECTV programming and would like to activate your UltimateTV service.
If you plan to use both your new DIRECTV Receiver with UltimateTV service, as well
as your current DIRECTV Receiver, you can set up both in your home. Learn more about mutli-room setup.
