UltimateTV® service is only available on some DIRECTV Receiver models (RCA models DWD490RE and DWD495RE, and Sony model SAT-W60). If you do not have one of these receivers, you will need to buy a new receiver and remote control, which are sold as a package.
You might. If your current satellite dish does not have dual-output LNB (Low Noise Block), you will need to purchase a dual-LNB dish so that you can hook up both of the receiver's tuners. (The dish can be a round dual-LNB single-satellite dish or an oval multi-satellite dish.) If you wish to use the dual-tuner capability of your DIRECTV Receiver with UltimateTV® service, and use your old receiver in another room, you will need to purchase a multi-switch accessory to expand the number of outputs from a dual-LNB dish.
